Client Bedroom One Before and After

Categories Before & After

My clients have a three bedroom short-term rental property in Nashville that they needed help redecorating. This is the first bedroom.

My first impression of this room was it felt cold and bare. The barstools for end tables—rather than looking clever—felt cold and unsuited for the space.  First thing I found and purchased for the bedroom was the real wood headboard for $20! (We adhered it to the existing metal frame.) Having a headboard anchors the bed and makes it the focal point of the room pulling the whole room together.

On Facebook Marketplace, I found two brand new Wayfair nightstands for $30 total! What a score!! All I had to do was assemble them. The white Eames-style rocking chair had been in the living room, but I felt it fit the bedroom space better. I found Threshold artwork at Dirt Cheap and reused the lamps from another bedroom. I added a little whimsy with the two Opalhouse Parrot and Flamingo pillows.

I feel that the wood elements and rug helped to warm up the room. The abstract-painting-looking rug and artwork and pillows spice up the space making it now charming and inviting.

As I purchased items, I super-imposed photos of them into a photograph of the room so that I could plan and see how the elements and colors worked together.
