DIY: Easy Practical Housewarming Gift

I recently saw an easy DIY gift basket for a new homeowner on Pinterest. Thought it was a super creative idea, so when I found out that my friend, Althea, had bought a new house—I knew exactly what I wanted to give her! I thought I’d share the idea with you, because it’s super practical for the homeowner and you get to use a little creativity putting it together. Here are the items you will need:

  1. a new (empty) paint can, flower pot or bucket
  2. tissue paper (optional)
  3. practical gifts for the home: such as a paint brush, flashlight, Goo Gone, power cord OR all the items you need to hang pictures such as a hammer, nail hangers, level OR items for the kitchen like spatulas, thermometer, timer
  4. ribbon/bow (optional)

Gather all your items together. Place tissue paper in pot like you would into a gift bag. Arrange gift items in an interesting way. Add a ribbon and bow if it needs more pizazz.

Below are two creatively packaged home gift ideas. The first one is by Martha Stewart and you can find it here and the second one, by Knives Cooks Love, can be found here. For more creative wrapping ideas, click here.
