Here at The Design Desk, I’ve had my eye on some Lightroom presets by Color-Shop that transform photographs into amazingly moody and beautiful art. I’m still waiting for a project need to justify the purchase of them though. But in the meantime, I have found some color treatment options using FREE Photoshop actions. And I think they are too good not to share.
I’m demonstrating these actions using a photo taken by Amber Beckham Photography and an iPhone snapshot of me and the “Tweedles” taken by my friend Joan Dyer. I love how the Coffee action by David Nanchin (above) makes the photos feel like they’re dipped in warm coffee.
Fearless action by MyRockers brings out the blue tones in the photos.
In Front Light is a high contrast action also by David Nanchin. He has many more actions with names such as Retrograde Mint and Frostbite.
Here, I’m using Kiss of Death action set 07 and 046, but Gini has tons of actions to choose from.
Who wants to do all the Photoshop color treatment work from scratch when you can start with these actions and tweak a little? And best of all—these actions are free!
